LIGHTBOX FEATURE: KENDRA SCOTT

As a packaging agency that has helped numerous entrepreneurs build their brands, we are always on the lookout for examples of companies who have worked their way from the ground up and delivered consistently strong branding along the way. Austin-based jeweler Kendra Scott is a company we believe has done just that, and is one we admire for her cohesive brand strategy. Kendra Scott, a household name in jewelry, launched her collection in 2002 with only $500. The company has since evolved into a global multi-million dollar brand sold at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and other renowned department stores and specialty boutiques around the world.

From her unique and colorful designs to her bold and magnetic storefronts, Kendra Scott’s brand is consistently aligned with her three founding philosophies: Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy.  She promotes her philanthropic endeavors by hosting “Kendra Gives Back” parties, from which a percentage of the proceeds collected goes back to a particular charity or cause. A variety of designs are also dedicated to benefitting charities dear to the company’s heart through specific “You Shop, We Give” collections, and she utilizes her corporate blog to publish stories solely based on family, fashion, and philanthropy.

This mantra helps clearly communicate to consumers what the Kendra Scott brand represents. Her authenticity and originality are clearly shown through these three tenets, allowing her audience to know exactly what to expect when they invest in her brand.

For those of you who are looking to build your own brand, we encourage you to follow Kendra’s lead: find what it is that fuels your passion, and follow it.
